Welcome to our November newsletter.

A year ago, Nova launched our cost-of-living workshops to support many in our community who were really struggling to cope day to day. Since then, our Information, Advice and Guidance team (IAG) have expanded services to hold outreach sessions in some of the borough’s libraries, as well as working with local partner organisations to maximise our collective reach and impact. Energy isn't only focussed on resolving immediate issues. We actively encourage and facilitate those looking towards the future, with workshops on entrepreneurship, practical life skills and navigating the paths and pitfalls of modern digital life. You can read about one of our new IAG advisors in this newsletter.

Our Family Programme continues to work with families struggling to make ends meet – holding events and activities aimed at providing much needed respite, and maintaining avenues of optimism, aspiration and education – fundamentals that can be so easily eroded under the weight of grinding daily worries. Do read on to see what they’ve been up to during the recent half-term holidays.

With the clocks turned back and the longer, darker evenings, we naturally look towards the rapidly approaching festive season – a season of giving and sharing. So, we’re very excited about a couple of fundraising events in support of our work that are lined up – we hope you will be, too!

October half-term holidays saw the launch of our new Riverstories: Family Archaeology & Storytelling club. Under the guidance of our friends at Museum of London Archaeology and Story Jam, we hunted for clues of past lives along the Thames, and brought to life the history of our fascinating city. Over at the Natural History Museum, we encountered the awesome titanosaur – four times heavier than Dippy the Diplodocus and longer than the blue whale. If that wasn’t enough to make us gulp, there was Jurassic Park in Concert at the Royal Albert Hall, trips to the Tower of London and Windsor Castle, innovative blast engineering to protect the world’s historic buildings at Imperial’s Invention Rooms and much, much more! We had 155 adult and 248 child attendances over the week’s 14 activities.

A titanic thank you to all our wonderful partners and supporters for making the half-term holidays a roaring success!
Please support our work building stronger communities and a better future for all.

Thank you for reading our newsletter.
