Job Description: Operations Manager at Vail Valley RIDE
Dates: May 13, 2024 - August 24, 2024
Position Type: Seasonal
Location: Eagle, Colorado
Hours: 25-30 hours/week
Starting Pay: $25/hour

Vail Valley RIDE is pioneering a unique approach that supports kids' physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being through biking. As the first of its kind, this is your opportunity to join a mission-driven team and make a profound, positive impact on the world. We are actively seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Operations Manager to lead our mountain bike camps during the summer season. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily camp operations and shape our young participants' relationship to sport and holistic well-being. Responsibilities:
- Maintain a Safe Environment: Ensure a physically and emotionally safe environment for all participants, implementing safety measures and promptly addressing concerns.
- Program Planning: Collaborate with the VVRIDE founder, RIDE mentors and coaches to plan daily lessons, games, activities, destinations, and routes that cater to the needs and preferences of the campers.
- Daily Administrative: Maintain a clean and organized database of participation contact information—possibility to expand duties to managing the registration system, requests, refunds, and transfers.
- Inclusivity: Fulfill the program's goal of providing a consistently positive experience that is inclusive of all campers, respecting and celebrating differences of race, class, gender identity, and background.
- Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents, coaches, RIDE mentors, and afternoon activities to inform them about day-to-day camp occurrences.
- Daily Setup and Wrap-up: Assist in the setup and wrap-up of daily camp activities, ensuring a smooth transition for campers.
- Check-Ins: Attend and actively contribute to daily on-site check-ins with staff and weekly check-ins with the Vail Valley RIDE founder.
- Represent Vail Valley RIDE: Act as a positive and professional representative of Vail Valley RIDE both on and off the trails, promoting the organization's values and mission.
Qualifications:
- Enthusiasm for and experience in youth camp leadership.
- Experience in youth camp operational management.
- A personal mountain bike.
- Prior experience in youth mentoring or teaching.
- Bike mechanic skills are a plus.
- Strong interest in promoting holistic health within the context of sports.
- Strong skills in registration systems management, Google Drive, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience in managing youth within a business context.
- First Aid / CPR Certification required, further training and certification a plus.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Reliable cell phone and transportation to and from work.
- Ability to ride mountain trails up to 10 miles and be able to carry supplies weighing up to 10 lbs.
Availability:
- Must be available to work all camps.
- Camp hours are 8:30 am to 1:30 pm, Monday to Thursday, during the following sessions:
- June 3-6, 10-13, 17, 20, 24-27.
- July 8-11, 15-18, 22-25, 29-August 1.
- August 5-8, 12-15.
- Additionally, 5-10 hours of administrative duties per week.
