The end of 2023 is upon us! While it remains an extremely heavy time, I wanted to reflect on some of the heartening parts of our year at FCCW, and tell you about an exciting, new development coming next year.

 

We hope that you had the pleasure of enjoying at least one of the more than 30 programs that we offered this year, nearly all of them free. Mandy and Stella brought so much vibrancy to our programs — starting with Dez Davis’ Rich Witch Entrepreneurial Boot Camp series, all the way to our Soft Skills Summer School and Feminist Forum series, as well as the unique Foraging Workshop with Made In LA artist, Maria Maea. Additionally, if you were part of our Fancy Dress for Feminism Gala this past spring, thank you again for your contributions and for bringing the vibes, it was a major highlight of our year✨

 

It’s been incredibly energizing to be back in space with all of you — so much so that we’re thrilled to announce we have signed a lease on a new space, and we’re in the midst of building a new home for FCCW! The space is located on Rosslyn St. not far from our current office, and will be designed for exhibitions, programming, and printing, with a garden for gathering, among many offerings. We can’t wait to invite you over to check it out in 2024! To those who are not local or prefer digital gatherings, we’re also very fond of the generative conversations and connections we’re having in our online programs, and you can continue to look forward to those too.

 

To close out the year, we’re hosting a screening tomorrow Thursday, Nov 30 in honor of World AIDS Day, as well as a holiday party on Friday, Dec 8, where you’re encouraged to drop by and enjoy our company and refreshments — more on both below. We’ll also be at a book fair on Wednesday, Dec 13 that you can scroll to learn more about.

 

Finally, for anyone giving CO—CO Press books or FCCW merch as holiday gifts, please get your orders in by Friday, Dec 8! We will be on our winter break from then until Jan 8, 2024, but we’ll be back with plenty more to share with you soon.
