The festive spirit is in the air as Wayne and I settle into our Arizona home. The Christmas tree is up and surrounded by gnomes, and the scent of baking gingerbread cookies fills the house. My mind is whirling with story ideas for the new year. I’ve been mulling over my word for 2024 and have decided on enlightenment. My hope is to open myself up for whatever God wants to teach me in the upcoming year. As I did this year, I’ve also decided to eliminate a word from my life and that word is rush. It seems I’m always in a hurry to get somewhere and impatient along the way. I believe that’s a good word to eliminate for all of us in 2024-- to slow down and appreciate all that we have been given.
