NASHVILLE, TENN. – Closing out 2023, independent music powerhouse Big Loud celebrates a monumental year, earning 53 new RIAA certifications, 16 billion global on-demand streams, and a whopping 24 Billboard year-end chart No. 1s.
Big Loud recording artists logged five country radio No. 1s this year with HARDY’s 2x Platinum “wait in the truck (feat. Lainey Wilson)” and Morgan Wallen’s GRAMMY-nominated “Last Night,” 4x Platinum “Thought You Should Know” and “You Proof,” and 3x Platinum “Thinkin’ Bout Me.”
Big Loud Texas, an imprint of Big Loud Records formed in partnership with GRAMMY Award-winners Miranda Lambert and Jon Randall, was established in 2023, announcing prolific singer-songwriter Dylan Gossett as its flagship artist signed in partnership with Mercury Records and Range Media Partners. This year also saw the expansion of the label’s roster with troubadours Charles Wesley Godwin, Maggie Rose, Stephen Wilson Jr., and Zandi Holup. Songs & Daughters / Big Loud Records doubled down with the addition of country breakthrough artist Lauren Watkins, and Records signed Songland winner Griffen Palmer.
Debut projects by Ashley Cooke (shot in the dark), Palmer (Unlearn), Jake Worthington (Jake Worthington), Watkins (Introducing: Lauren Watkins EP + Introducing: The Heartbreak EP), and Wilson Jr. (søn of dad) were released, alongside label debuts by Godwin (Family Ties), Dallas Smith (Dallas Smith), and Lauren Alaina (Unlocked EP). HARDY released seminal sophomore album the mockingbird & THE CROW this year, while ACM New Female Artist of the Year Hailey Whitters released her I’m In Love EP, Larry Fleet Earned It, ERNEST doubled his full-length debut FLOWER SHOPS (THE ALBUM) on deluxe edition, FLOWER SHOPS (THE ALBUM): Two Dozen Roses, and Morgan Wallen garnered back-to-back blockbuster success with Billboard’s longest running No. 1 album of the year, One Thing At A Time.
