Q: What is your favorite part of taking music lessons at Music Makers?
A: My favorite part of taking music lessons at Music Makers is the time and space to be present for learning and creating music with a wonderful teacher, in an excellent environment while playing an instrument I love.

Q:What is your favorite song to play and why?
A: My favorite song to play is Ode To Joy with the MMW Cello Choir on stage at the Winter recital because I’ve seen many musicians play this classic song on violin and piano at the beginning of their musical journeys so it feels like a rite of passage that I got to experience.

Q:What inspired you to take music lessons?
A: My parents inspired me to take music lessons when I was younger. More recently, I was inspired to take music lessons at MMW when I saw my daughter, other students, and Mr Mikey performing at the Spring recital 2021. After that recital I approached MMW to help me put together a favorite song that I sang and played piano for a surprise gift for my husband's 40th birthday. I continued taking piano and voice lessons because I love learning music and the sound of piano. Even more recently, I was inspired to take cello lessons because I have long appreciated that the cello produces the most beautiful sound and is my favorite instrument, I wanted a mental challenge, I know Ms Andrea is an excellent teacher, I want to be a good role model for my children, and taking music lessons makes me happy which helps make all entities in my existence better.

Q: Most memorable musical moment?
A: My most memorable musical moment was splicing together special and favorite songs with my husband to use as our wedding 'speech'. We created a speech/song using our favorite tunes and lyrics so that music could do the talking.
Q: What are your future musical goals?
A: My future musical goals include playing with the MMW Cello Choir and playing a cello solo at the 2024 MMW Spring recital, finishing writing a song dedicated to my daughter, playing at a recital with my children, and to keep learning and practising playing music as much as possible to help keep my brain sharp and happy.
Q: Which famous musician would you choose to meet?
A: None, meeting a famous musician seems awkward so I'd prefer to wish them well and just keep listening to their amazing music. Dolly Parton might be fun to meet and chat with.

Q: What are three fun facts about yourself?
A:  I love meditating. I love running up hills. I love seeing shooting stars with my family.

Q: What is your favorite part of taking music lessons at Music Makers?
A: it’s tons of fun, and I love my teacher, Mr. Christian!
Q: What is your favorite song to play and why?
A: I like to play β€œTear in my Heart” by Twenty-One Pilots, because it’s a really cool song with a great bass line.
Q: What inspired you to take music lessons?
A: I thought the drums and bass were super cool and I wanted to learn how to be a rock star!
Q: Most memorable musical moment?
A: Being on stage for the first time at the Rebel Lounge for a Rock Band performance.
Q: What are your future musical goals?
A:  Getting into Rock Band 2
Q: Which famous musician would you choose to meet?
A:  Soundgarden because Spoonman is my baseball walk up song.
Q: What are three fun facts about yourself?
A:  I’m really into music, I love sports and I’m a really good pitcher & catcher in baseball.

Congratulations to our Winter Recital Participants!
Over 300 students performed at the Mesa Arts Center on December 15-17th. We couldn't be more proud of the hard work and dedication that each student showed throughout the weekend through their performances, and we look forward to an exciting year ahead full of memorable moments in music!
