TORNADO RESPONSE

This past Saturday, Nashville experienced horrific tornados that ripped through our city impacting parts of Madison, Hendersonville, and other parts of the county in addition to our friends in Clarksville.

In Nashville, a collective of volunteer organizations has officially activated to give help where it's needed. If you need assistance, please fill out a form at NashvilleResponds.com. People can list emergency needs like shelter, baby supplies, bus passes and water damage cleanup. But there’s also help available for longer-term needs, like home repair, car replacement and FEMA application assistance. Separately, you can submit requests for tree and yard waste pickup at hubNashville.

Hands on Nashville is working closely with the Office of Emergency Management and first responders to identify areas where volunteers can be used for cleanup. At this time, it is not safe for volunteers to self-deploy into the community. However, nonprofit partners have begun utilizing volunteers to sort donations and provide relief for survivors.

  • If you need assistance, please submit your request here: Tornado Help.
  • If you or someone you know needs assistance and translation services, call 211 or call TIRRC at (615)-414-1030.
  • Monetary donations can be made now. Here is the link to the Davidson County relief fund (including Madison): Nashville Fund, and here is the link to the Cheatham, Dickson, Montgomery, Robertson, and Sumner Counties joint relief fund (including Clarksville and Hendersonville): Tennessee Fund.
