I hope that you’ve been having an incredible holiday season! I can’t believe we’re less than a week away from the new year! Since I won’t be in your inbox until 2024 (aka a week from today 😅), I wanted to do a New Year’s challenge this week! 

This week’s #CreateWithCatCoq challenge is to draw the classic New Year’s Eve drink - champagne! Or if champagne’s not your thing, draw your favorite celebratory beverage! 🥂

 

My champagne illustrations are consistently some of the top sellers in my portfolio and they continue to sell well on print-on-demand sites and get picked up for new licensing collaborations as the years go on.

This motif is popular year-round, but I thought it would be fun to focus on it this week as we’re drinking bubbly to toast the beginning of a new year! Share your celebratory illustrations on Instagram with the hashtag #CreateWithCatCoq so I can like, comment, and share your work! 

 

A few weeks ago, my “Champagne Collection” wine chiller was featured on Good Morning America! 🤩 I painted the original in watercolor and uploaded it to Society6, who selected it for the  TV feature. 🙌

 

This is a great example of why putting your artwork out there into the world opens up SO many opportunities for us artists. It’s more than just royalty rates or sales, it’s getting more eyes on your work so that when collaborations and features like this arise, you’re primed and ready for it!
