The Sun and the New Moon are stationed in Sagittarius. Ruled by Jupiter and represented by the half-man, half-horse archer, Sag is the philosopher, great interrogator, evaluator, and truth seeker of the zodiac. It's associated with law, religion, and medicine, and is always galloping along, trying to fletch it's arrows towards our next collective experience. Are you down to make it what we really want, even if its not comfortable along the way? Let's get into the details and how we can best navigate all of this cosmic energy for healing, mind, body, soul self-care, and divine alignment.
What are the Sun and Moon doing?

The Sun and the Moon are stationed in expansive Sagittarius.

Represented by the half-man, half-horse archer and ruled by planet of expansion Jupiter, Sag is all about philosophy, traveling, expansion, and freedom in general. This New Moon starts a new lunar cycle focused on expansion, learning, and aligning with the truth.

Sagittarius governs the ninth astrological house of travel, wisdom, philosophy, higher education, law, spirituality, and ethics. As these themes are under the Sun and Moon's spotlights, ask yourself they're already cropping up in your life.

During this lunation, brace yourself for some cosmic tension—think of it as a challenge of what you believe, with the silver lining being a chance to broaden your horizons and get closer to your divine truth.

To navigate this New Moon and this lunar cycle smoothly and make the most of its opportunities, we're encouraged to ditch Sagittarius' shadow qualities—judgment, self-righteousness, and dogmatism—in exchange for tolerance, forgiveness, an open mind, and a generous spirit. Be mindful of trading any negativity for optimism and faith.

Now, here's the cosmic fine print: Because of a challenging aspect with Neptune (planet of ideals, intuition, and spirituality), there's intricate work to be done. If we resist the cosmic call and instead choose to stick with the same old judgmental and intolerant routine, we might find ourselves facing the not-so-pleasant side of Neptune ie. disillusionment, lack of clarity, apathy, avoidance, deception, over-sensitivity, and increased fear.

We're advised to roll up our sleeves, do the work when it shows up for us, and embrace a shift in perspective. Now more than ever, see discomfort as an open door to a new experience. You can shut it by looping in expired thoughts and mindsets or bravely walk through with an open heart and mind.

Reminder: New Moons are ideal for vibrating and setting intentions for new beginnings that will germinate over the next six months, so it's a good time to look back at what intentions you were setting for the Full Moon in Sag on June 3. What has come to fruition for you? What opportunities have you received to transform your life in the ways that you were looking forward to then?

What about the other planets?

The New Moon in Sagittarius is conjunct Mars (drive, action, and war). It is also square Neptune (ideals, intuition, and spirituality). The Moon is quincunx Uranus (upheaval and awakening) that is direct after being retrograde since June 30. Jupiter, who is the ruler of this lunation, is also finally direct after being retrograde, imbuing this moment with potential for expansive new beginnings.

Not to mention, the Moon is trining Chiron (the wounded healer), the North Node (what we have to learn and integrate) , and Eris (chaos and discord). The energy from these trines help our alignment with our Soul's highest evolutionary journey.

The Moon also conjunct Atria, the brightest star in a constellation called the Triangulum Australis (Southern Triangle) which is about seven times larger than our Sun. Astrologer Pam Younghans says:

“Atria is a very favorable influence, enhancing spiritual powers when it is activated. The fixed star also carries the positive energies of both Mercury and Jupiter, opening our minds to higher wisdom, facilitating the search for life's meaning, increasing optimism and hope, and favoring philosophical or religious pursuits. Atria is said to be just, truthful, righteous, and benevolent.”

Adding this point to incentivize you to use this moment to propel you forward!

Remember Mercury, who is retrograde for the last time this year, going direct on January 1, 2024. (Prepare, prepare, prepare, and triple-check everything!)

What does all of this mean for me?

You're called to be mindful in a an evolutionary way, for you and for all.

The cosmic instruction for this lunation is to gracefully cast aside self-righteousness and embrace a more curious and understanding spirit that's open to the experiences of others. Soften any parts of your hardened heart; however, approach these shifts with mindful intent. Every step forward contributes to your evolution, but hasty, unconscious decisions might inadvertently lead you backward.

The significance of this moment and the shifts you're receiving the opportunities to make lie not only in your individual growth, but in recognizing the interconnected nature of your evolution and the collective well-being of the world. If the state of the world matters to you (especially right now), let this be a driving force anchoring you in heart-centered judgment.

Growth isn't comfortable. To be your best self for you and for the world, embrace discomfort forever.

The cosmos have offered us crucial opportunities to deepen our spiritual connection in the last few months. We've been asked to shake things up, adjust our perspective, and step into unfamiliar territory regarding how we speak and move, and what we're motivated to speak and move about.

There is an emphasis on the fact that spiritual evolution is always the [never-ending] goal regardless of where we are in life. While you may not always be comfortable with what your path to spiritual growth entails, it is in embracing discomfort that we unlock the gateway to new experiences, more profound wisdom, and our divine truth. As you move through the month, navigate with unwavering resilience, treating challenges as invaluable opportunities for expansion…because they are.

Sharing this quote by Adyashanti that I've shared in the past because it resonates with the energy of now, and always:

"Enlightenment is a destructive process.
It has nothing to do with becoming better or being happier.
Enlightenment is the crumbling away of untruth.
It's seeing through the facade of pretense.
It's the complete eradication of everything we imagined to be true."

Let's talk about self-care.

In the current landscape, practicing self-care takes on heightened significance as we navigate life's contrast. The duality of advocating for collective liberation while ensuring moments of rest for our own sustainable well-being. Amidst the holiday season's celebrations filled with indulgent food, drinks, and creature comforts, it's crucial to acknowledge the stark reality of innocent people facing martyrdom across the globe—a somber awakening as the whole world wakes up to the truth of our world leaders.

Right now, self-care emphasizes the delicate balance between doing and being. Engaging in activities that foster optimism, exploration, and spiritual growth; practices such as outdoor adventures, meditation, and seeking wisdom through learning or philosophical pursuits; and journaling to get to the bottom of any ridig thought forms or mindsets are all self-care practices to focus on right now.

As we immerse ourselves in the heart of the holidays, it's not only essential to approach self-care with awareness and compassion, but to set boundaries so that we can sustain them in our our lives. Generally, boundaries are key during any holiday season. You know what to do.

All zodiac signs rule parts of the body, and Sagittarius rules the hips and thighs, physical spaces that tend to hold onto trauma and rigidity. Prioritize moving intentionally to soften your body, and simultaneously do what you can to soften the structures that don't serve your expansion or that of collective consciousness. You're way bigger, better, and spiritually bolder than any fears holding you back. Allow the Universe in and let It to remind you that you're a personification of God. Speak, move, and be like you are what you are. ❤️

If you need a refresher or haven't watched the workshop yet, navigate to the Member Portal. It's the perfect workshop for beginners.

You can find your birth or natal chart for free online – I like using Chani Nicholas' chart generator on her website. Once you have your chart in front of you, locate the zodiac signs that pertain to this moment's astrology (the sign the Sun and Moon are in) and look at the number of the section they're in. That would be the astrological house you're looking for. You can Google “astrological houses" to get an accurate breakdown of what each means, but here is a breakdown you can use now via AstroStyle

Above is an example of Virgo being in the 9th House of travel, wisdom, philosophy, learning, and ethics, and Pisces being in the 3rd House of thinking, communication, early education, interests, neighbors, and siblings.

Knowing the houses makes all the difference in the energy and focus you can bring your intentions.
