In preparation for the schools breaking up this week the police briefed Coventry BID and city centre stakeholders on their plans to deter anti-social behaviour.

Most schools will be break up at lunch time on Friday with a handful breaking up on the Thursday.

Police to be stationed in key areas of the city centre including McDonalds, Nisa (Trinity Street), Millenium Place, Lady Herberts Garden, Priory Garden, Top of Trinity Street. There will also be a high police presence in zoned areas proportionate to footfall and level of ASB or disorder.

Police will be looking to positively engage with anyone loitering, explain to individuals issued faced, encourage loiterers to disperse and leave the area emphasising the repercussions. If all else fails, they will escalate to enforcing if they fail to comply with the restrictions.

Security teams within city centre have been fully briefed and have planned staffing levels accordingly. If you need any further information contact Sian and if you have any issues utilise your security radio.
