Dear First name / friend

Yesterday was a first for me (at least I think it was a first).

I left the house wearing yoga clothes with a sweatshirt on for warmth. Got to the studio, started signing people in, went into the room to start class. We were about ⅔'s off the way through the class when I was told my shirt was inside out.

When class started, I talked a bit about gratitude and journalling. How a yoga teacher I know had shifted his journalling from writing day's events (good and bad), to focusing on the parts of the day he found good. I call that gratitude journalling.

Well, how does one jump from ‘wearing a shirt inside out’ to ‘gratitude journalling’? Here's how – I called out the elephant in the room by telling the class that it had been whispered discreetly to me that my shirt was inside out. To a person, everyone started laughing, including me.

It was a great class enhanced by laughter at my clothing lapse.

I am grateful to the person who told me and I am grateful to all in the room who had a bit of fun with it.

So, I think it was a first for me; at least I hope so. And, it may not be the last.

All this to say – look for the good in even the embarrassing moments.

My schedule for the rest of 2023 and into 2024 is:

I am available to see individuals in my office each weekday. Call or email me if you'd like to set something up.

My schedule at Sage Yoga is as follows:
Mondays/Thursdays  10:30am   Aligned Yoga (Fallbrook studio)
Tuesdays               9:00am   Gentle Yoga (Bonsall studio)
Fridays                   9:00am   Yoga Fundamentals (Bonsall studio)

on my end table:
Nutrition Concepts & Controversies I told you about this last month. It is the required book for the Integrative Nutrition course I've begun at UCSD. I will finish the first segment of this course this week. In January, a new book will take its place (thicker, small font with NO pictures). But, so far the course and the reading is making an imprint on my dietary choices.

The Three Weissmans of Westport by Cathleen Schine. I had no idea about this book, other than it was on sale at the Library Bookstore. Sounded interesting and it was. An easy read that I finished in a few days. Good antidote to Nutrition Concepts & Controversies!

for more light reading:
  1. My husband shared this article with me from the Mayo Clinic, it speaks to the benefits of yoga!
  2. I love pumpkin pie, so it's no surprise that this recipe for pumpkin energy balls is included here.
  3. And, my recent blog post is available for reading.

I hope you have a wonderful Holiday. Try looking for the good in even the stressful situations. And HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Leslie
