SFN: What gave you the idea to add narrating audiobooks to your life and career?
KNF: I had always wanted to get into voice acting ever since I went to my first Comic-Con in San Diego when I was in college. I was involved in choir, acting, and film all through high school and college. I finally hit a point in my life where I went, "FUCK IT! I'm doing it!" and I signed up for voice acting coaching and demo recording. The rest is history.
SFN: What's your pre-recording ritual?
KNF: Since I share a booth with my absolutely handsome and fabulous husband, James Anderson Foster, and he records first, a lot of my pre-recording ritual is set up. He swaps over for my recording set up and I switch our fancy lights to my colors, put on chapstick, do some warm ups while I check my emails, and get to work.
SFN: What is your least favorite word to pronounce in a narration? What is your favorite word to roll around in your mouth?
KNF: For whatever reason the word "Adirondack" is the worst and should never be used. As far as favorites, lollipop has always been a top choice. Also Fuck is just lovely.
SFN: What do you love to do on your days off?
KNF: I love baking, hanging with my family, and studying whatever my latest obsession is.
SFN: What's your favorite part of the process?
KNF: I am feral for acting quippy and sexy dialogue. It's just the greatest.
SFN: What's the oddest object inside your booth?
KNF: I have a mushroom shaped crystal that was picked out by a cat especially for me.
Don't miss our sale feature above with Kelsey's narration, Boyfriends of Christmas Past by Erika Marks.
