Happy new year, and happy new email! Before I get to the fun stuff I want to share the reason why you are getting this new email on January 1st, 2024.

 

My friend Elise is taking a break from sharing her life online. When she announced this online pause earlier this year it got me thinking about how I want to show up in my online spaces and this email is what rose to the top. I am excited to share in a more intentional and personal way. I connected with so many of you through my love of slow fashion and my business over the years. Since having my son and deciding to close my shop, I have felt the distance between me and my online community (you all!) growing and I miss the one-to-one connections. I am hoping to bridge that gap with this little email and sharing more on my blog (where the algorithm that hides so many of your post from me and mine from you doesn't exist).

I made brisket for the first time and is was delicious! I did a variation of this Ina Garten recipe in the instant pot and the brisket fell apart (first tried slow cooking and finished in the pressure cooker to save time). Instead of tomato sauce I caramelized onions and added extra herbs and vegetable broth. I roasted the potatoes and carrots and served on the side.

 

This TikTok inspired us to watch too many hallmark-esque holiday movies last week. The were corny and lighthearted, just what we needed. If you're looking for one I say watch this one (but only if you're ready for all the cringe).

 

I'm smitten with this floral motif jumper and cardigan. They are both made of natural fibers and on pre-sale too. Guess which one I bought?

 

I made chocolate croissants over the break and before you get too impressed they came frozen. Nonetheless I thought I was in an episode of Great British Bake Off and they were worth a handshake! Add your own egg wash for extra authenticity.

 

This beautiful bag is on it's way to me too. Let's just say I'm making some prudent investments in my 2024 self.
