In the last email we discussed the kitchen planning process, now we will move on to the renovation process. Ben , our cabinetmaker will meet with you once the kitchen plans are finalized and start step 1 of the renovation process.
Tear out and demolition. This can be completed by the homeowner or a contractor. Our advice would certainly be to have someone who knows what they are doing. It can be the step that also reveals any other issues that may need to be taken care of before proceeding. We can suggest professionals to assist if need be.
Framing and plumbing are next, again best taken care of by professionals.
Before the walls can be enclosed an inspection needs to happen through your municipal building inspector. The walls are then finished and can be crack filled and primed.
Door and window installation is completed.
Flooring is next, lots of options here for you to choose from.
You are now ready for cabinetry installation. The extras also get added at this time; i.e. appliances, vent hood, plumbing fixtures. Your starting to see your vision come to life.
Now is the time to have counter tops templated. Once on site, installed and back splashed completed.
Last but not least, the final details of crown molding and the last few adjustments to hinges and installation of hardware are completed.
How great will it be to sit and have your first coffee in your new dream kitchen…..
