Happy New Year! With Jupiter (planet of growth, opportunity, expansion) direct as of 2 days ago and Mercury turning direct tonight, it actually feels fresh as we move into the first week of 2024. The last few Januarys have not felt as fresh as this one, astrologically speaking. I always remind people that the real new year is the astrological new year / spring equinox, falling on 3/19 this year, and to not put so much pressure on drastic change out the gate in January buuuut I digress and will play along. As Mercury comes back to life (I always say give it a couple of days as the few days surrounding Mercury changing directions are always the most wonky) and we get to the beautiful first new moon of the year on 1/11 (I've been talking about how good it is for months now!) - we are flowingggg. We have every single planet direct by the end of the month as well which always symbolizes forward momentum.

 

We also enter into a new number frequency, the 8 Collective Year, that is much more energizing than last year's 7. Regardless of your personal year number, the collective 8 will add a dash of accelerant to everyone's year and it will represent the themes we notice collectively / globally this year. The short and sweet main themes being money, power, business, karmic rewards and success. It's fast paced and action oriented. 

 

The things Astrologically that are the biggest deals, imo, for the whole year are (at least the first 6mo as I tend to only pulse out 4-6mo at a time, tbh) :

 

 

1st - Mercury stations direct  - As Mercury stations direct, the fog lifts, and the tangled mess of miscommunications starts to unravel. The frustrating period of setbacks and confusion is over. It's a signal to get back on track with plans and projects that might have hit a speed bump during the retrograde. The straightforward energy returns, but be mindful—the post-retrograde shadow looms for a bit. It's a time to proceed with caution, ensuring that the clarity gained isn't overshadowed by overlooking important details. The road is clearer, but a steady pace with an eye on potential bumps is still the way to go.

 

4th Mars enters Capricorn until 2/13 - During this transit, actions are deliberate, calculated, and aimed at long-term success. Ambitions and career goals take center stage, and there's a strong drive to climb the metaphorical ladder of success. Mars in Capricorn instills a sense of responsibility and determination, making it an excellent time for strategic planning and hard work. However, be mindful of potential stress or rigidity, as the energy can be intense. Overall, it's a period where disciplined action leads to tangible results, especially in professional and practical matters.

 

11th New Moon 20 degrees of Capricorn - I LOVE this new moon and 111 angel number /portal…we see you! Capricorn is the sign of hard work, goals and determination. There are amazing aspects to this moon blending opportunity with energy for aligned action and the momentum to take advantage. This is when new beginnings for the year really start taking form. We are out of the hangover of the Holidays and ready to go!

14th Mercury enters Capricorn - During this transit, conversations become more focused on practical matters, long-term goals, and structured plans. People tend to communicate with a business-like approach, prioritizing efficiency and organization. Thinking becomes more methodical, and there's a tendency to consider the long-term implications of ideas and decisions. It's an excellent time for strategic thinking, goal setting, and business-related discussions. However, be aware of the potential for communication to become overly cautious or reserved. Overall, Mercury in Capricorn encourages clear, strategic, and goal-oriented communication.

20th - Sun enters Aquarius aka Aquarius Season - Happy bday to my Aqua's out there! When the sun is in Aquarius there is focus on innovation, individuality, and a humanitarian mindset. People may embrace unique ideas, engage in social causes, and prioritize community connections. The energy encourages intellectual exploration, independence, and a forward-thinking approach. This period is marked by a collective interest in progress, technology, and fostering friendships with like-minded individuals.

 

20th - Pluto enters Aquarius (+ meets up with the sun) - Much bigger deal on the collective grand scale than an individual shift but a big deal. Pluto stays in a sign for ~ 20 years, it's what we call a generational planet. Pluto in Aquarius suggests a period of transformative (Pluto) changes in technology, societal structures, and collective ideologies (Aquarius). Expect revolutionary shifts in social and political systems, as well as breakthroughs in scientific and technological advancements. The influence of Pluto in Aquarius is likely to bring intense and deep-seated transformations with a focus on progressive and humanitarian ideals.

23rd - Venus moves into Capricorn  -  During this transit, love takes on a practical and serious tone. Capricorn's influence on Venus suggests a focus on building strong foundations in relationships, and individuals may be attracted to partners who share similar goals and ambitions. Aesthetic preferences tend to lean towards classic and timeless styles, appreciating quality over quantity. This transit encourages a disciplined approach to matters of the heart, emphasizing loyalty and enduring connections.

 

25th Full Moon in Leo at 5 degrees - The Full Moon is sassy and packs a punch with tough aspects! Watch out for verbal slays that stem from insecurity from self or others. Take a beat before you react as willpowers are tested this moon cycle. The good side? Highly transformative full moon and loud gut instincts/intuitions - listen to them!

 

26th Uranus stations direct -  THIS MAKES ALL PLANETS DIRECT - when Uranus is direct, its energy is more assertive and forward-moving. The themes of rebellion, change, and sudden breakthroughs become more apparent. This period may bring unexpected and liberating events, encouraging individuals and societies to embrace innovation and unconventional approaches. The influence of Uranus can lead to breakthroughs in technology, social structures, and personal awareness. It's a time to be open to change, think outside the box, and welcome the unexpected shifts that Uranus can bring. However, be prepared for a certain level of unpredictability and a need to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances.

 

 26th - All planets direct - heads up that people tend to make a big ole stink about this and how it is amazing blah blah but I tend to notice that most feel a little over-stimulated when all planets are in forward momentum. Retrogrades bring pauses, reflections and introspection which is so needed! So prepare for this energy as we step into February and make sure to grab moments for grounding.

 

 

 

Collectively for the Universal 8 year, January is a 9 month. While the 8 Year is fast and fresh,  January offers a moment to reevaluate and complete things before the energy ramps up completely in February (all planets direct and a 1month which is the true new beginnings). This is because the 9 is marked by the energy of completion and transitions. You may find yourself wrapping up projects, an aspect of your life, relationships, making room for and preparing for new beginnings in the upcoming months. It's a time to let go of what no longer serves you and focus on helping others. The combination of the 9 energy with the 8 Personal Year suggests a balance between self-interest and the greater good. Be open to unexpected opportunities for spiritual growth and generosity. Forgive, practice gratitude, grieve, donate things, face habits and beliefs that keep you in patterns that no longer serve you. 

 

Overall, it's a month to reflect on your achievements, tie up loose ends, and consider how you can align more authentically moving forward. While some closures may bring emotional challenges, trust that they pave the way for positive transformations in the months ahead.

 

Since we are entering a new year…

2024, as an 8 Universal Year, brings a focus on financial and material matters globally. There is potential for economic growth, increased productivity, and advancements in business and financial sectors. The energy of the 8 emphasizes the need for responsible leadership and ethical decision-making on a large scale. Society may experience both the rewards and challenges associated with power, money and influence. Typically, collective energy is a bit low-vibe though. I feel like the US election will be largely focused on the economy. Globally, on power and dominance (hopefully it's more ethical power and high-vibe). 

 

It's a time for everyone to assess financial strategies and work towards achieving stability and prosperity. While opportunities for success abound, it's crucial to manage resources wisely and maintain a balance between material pursuits and the well-being of the collective. 8 is karmic, think infinity symbol. Rewards for previous hard work or previous sacrifices are coming back around! 

 

 

 

The card of the month is The World card (called Cosmic Union in this deck). I love that we get this card paired with the 9 month cycle of a new year (endings yet beginnings) as it is the final card in the Major Arcana of the Tarot deck, and it represents completion, fulfillment, and the culmination of a journey. See the correlating themes? The World card is a significator of success and wholeness. It marks the end of a phase, symbolizing mastery, integration of experiences, and a sense of harmony. This card encourages celebration of achievements and suggests a transition to a new chapter with spiritual awareness and a broad perspective.

 

The month ahead may bring successful closure to projects, goals, or situations that have been ongoing in your life. While marking the end of a cycle, the World card also hints at the beginning of a new phase. Be open to new opportunities and embrace the changes that come your way. It's a transitional period with potential for personal growth. This month brings moments of spiritual insight, awareness and a deeper understanding of your place in the world. Pay attention to your inner self and the messages from your higher consciousness.

 

This card also reminds you hat you have gained a lot of wisdom leading up to this new year but will continue to gain more throughout what January brings. Trust that wisdom. There is no need to overcomplicate things - often the wisest choice is the most simple. Perhaps it only feels so simple because of your deep wisdom? 

 

February we have all planets direct AND it is a 1 month (new beginnings) in the fast 8 Year! I feel like The World card is a wink at us, letting us know we are ready AF.
