Weekly News and Motivation For Real People
with Real Goals and Busy Lives
Hi First name / friend!

just for kicks

how tight you holdin'

food for thought
If you really want to learn, you have to first admit that you do not know.

One of my favorite things about being single is learning from the different men I'm talking to. Right now for example, I'm connected to someone a bit older who naturally has more life experience than I do. He also seems to know infinitely more about music and the history of music, which if you know me is both deeply appreciated and also saying quite a bit.

All of this to say: there are moments in conversation where if I want to learn more about whatever he's talking about, I can't play it cool like I know what he's talking about. Do you know what I mean? If I want to learn and grow and evolve from this connection, I have to actually do the opposite and openly admit that I don't know what he's talking about and would he please tell me more.

Not feeling like I have to posture or pretend is an incredibly freeing experience. It means I get to ask more questions. It means I might look a little silly - or maybe just young - but in turn, I get to learn more and grow more as a person. Because although I know a lot about a lot, I also am humbled by the reminder that there's also a lot I don't know and am interested to find out.

The moral of the story is to talk to, explore and date people who inspire you. If growth is as important to you as it is to me, learning from your person (or different persons if your single), will be paramount. Why be uninspired in your relationships? Spend time with people who are excited to share their wisdom, knowledge and areas of interest. Give yourself the gift of learning and give whoever you're talking to… the gift of teaching x

However you found yourself here, I am so incredibly grateful. May we all remain hungry, curious and humbl on our individual journeys. May we lead with love and by example, today, tomorrow and always.
