Hello First name / Friend
"Winter is a season of recovery and preparation." – Paul Theroux.

Hope you all had a wonderful time over the holidays. We sure did, though it got us thinking about things around here at Oostema Farmstead.

Looking back on the past year and the onset of January serves as a reminder of the tasks ahead before the bustling summer season. Remember those happy families you might have seen playing on the farm? We've cherished creating those memories with them. Recently, though, things have changed for us both inside and outside the Oostema family. We're welcoming another grandchild soon, (a boy) and our cattle, the heartbeat of the farm, need a calmer environment to thrive. So, to make sure everyone – animals, guests, and us – enjoys the serenity of Oostema Farmstead, we're making some updates.

  1. Children Policy: Effective immediately, we've updated our Children Policy, no longer catering to those under 18. This decision aligns with our vision as more adults seek a tranquil escape in our serene surroundings. We've expanded our cattle business, emphasizing the need for a calm environment, especially for expecting mothers and young animals that arrive each summer. This serenity is crucial for their well-being, and some farm activities involving machinery pose significant safety concerns for young children. We've had to make this challenging decision to prioritize safety for our cherished animals and guests.
  2. Pet Policy: We have made changes to our Pet Policy, and we happily accept one dog per RV. We no longer will accept pets in the Apartment. We've updated our Doggy Rules and kindly ask for your cooperation in adhering to them. Find the revised rules here. Our mission is to create an unforgettable stay for you and an enjoyable experience for your four-legged friend while maintaining a harmonious and safe environment for all. We recognize the difficulty of these decisions, as they were challenging for us too. Still, we believe they will help create a serene and relaxing environment for all our guests and us, who work the property alongside the animals—the heart of this Farmstead.
  3. Our Family First: Our family holds the utmost priority. Some of you have enjoyed meeting our children and grandchildren, or perhaps you've seen photos of them. With a new grandchild coming soon, this little addition is a significant shift in our personal lives, and both Glen and I need to focus on the expanding needs of our own family. Balancing the demands of our bustling Farmstead business with our personal lives is sometimes quite challenging. Finding this balance is crucial as we navigate the responsibilities of our Farmstead and prioritize the precious moments with our growing family. Your understanding and continued support mean the world during this exciting and transformative time.

If these changes no longer align with your vacation needs, we express heartfelt gratitude for your support over the years. For those ready to experience a unique and peaceful stay on our Farmstead, these changes will enhance your experience. Your comfort and satisfaction will always be our top priority.

If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to contact us; we are here to help.
Sincerely,
Lisa and Glen Oostema
