I love curating a program with all of the elements that are important to me. The aesthetic is my base ingredient and then I build from there. I choose locations that have iconic food and wine value as well as connection and relationship. I then explore the areas nuance and splendor. This is not hard on the island of Salina, nor on Mount Etna.
Knowing the Tasca d'Almerita family for almost three decades now, I know the quality of their product. Come and spend time us at Capofaro ~ a whitewashed resort overlooking the smoking volcano of Stromboli. Salina is also volcanic. Therefore, flavors are potent. It's a pearl surrounded by six other Aeolian islands. A strand of brilliant jewels in the Mediterranean Sea.
Then travel with us the vineyards of Mount Etna. Another volcano with vibrant, mineral rich soil and elevation, perfect for producing world class wines. Tasca has vineyards all over Sicily and Tascante, their vineyard on Mt. Etna, is no less point on than the malvasia of Salina. I have chosen a lineage of elegance and sustainability with an eye for beauty. It helps to know so many creatives in the world. We find a dovetail match, just like new friends who meet each other on our trips. After all, friendship makes the world go ‘round.
