Hey Sunshine,
I am sure you know this story, but here it goes...
I founded and ran a successful business for 19 years that I sold when I moved from Wisconsin to South Carolina. Six months later I found myself in the throes of a midlife crisis. Cue crying sobbing in the Lowes parking lot and asking, “What the heck is my purpose now?”

I have spent the last 3 ½ years trying to answer that question with action. (Action by the way, was the cure for that midlife crisis.) I renovated two beach condos floor to ceiling, I started a podcast, hosted a midlife retreat, invested in a boutique hotel, was chosen as a KNOW woman for Charlotte. I helped two women start and launch new businesses, traveled globally 5x and uncovered tons of Carolina gems, and my friend and I started hosting monthly girls' lunches. I met so many amazing new women! I also ran my first all-women's trip to Guatemala, and I officially became a travel advisor.
(PS: My son told me I hadn't done much of anything since selling my business. Lol. Truth be told I did take a lot of naps.)

All of this time, I kept asking God to give me a sign of which road I was supposed to take. Heck, I know how to start a business in my sleep, but what path I should take was what was tripping me up-and keeping me up at night. When I leaned 100% into helping women, I longed for the travel and culture that had been part of my life for more than two decades, and when I decided to go all in with travel, I felt like something missing without working alongside midlife women.

This last weekend I went to Lauren Widrick's Grab Life by the Goals Summit. (Maybe you remember Lauren from my interview with her?) And ya'll, I had an epiphany. I don't fit in a box. I am not either a champion of women or a travel advisor. I am both. I am all the things. And I know it is not conventional or tidy, but I am leaning into this:

I am Bree Schumacher and I help women chase their dreams through travel, business, and community.

Ah, I feel so much better not trying to fit into a one size fits all box. I also want to give you permission to be unapologetically you in 2024 and get out of the box. It feels good! My new website will be launching, but in the meantime, if you want to start or grow your business or if you want to go on a trip that is way more than a vacation, I am your girl.  I am also offering calls if you want to talk through your own 2024 dreams and visions.

If you made it this far, thank you. I can assure you;
I am your biggest cheerleader.
xo, Bree
