This year, we have an incredible opportunity for you to grow as an artist, develop relationships with other members of TVAL, be more intentional in your creative practice, and help you thrive, whether it’s growing your art business, helping others in their art journey, or living your best retirement life. You can do all this through TVAL peer groups!

TVAL peer groups will consist of three members who will meet monthly for a one-hour meeting for four months. Our first session will run from February through May, and our second from August through November—you will be placed in a group with new people each session.

You will also set three goals to participate in one of these groups. Your first goal will be a personal goal to help you create a life that supports you and your creative practice well. Your second goal will be an artistic goal to help you in your creative practice. Your third goal will be a professional goal to help you gain exposure for your art and develop the business side of your creative practice.

You will submit your goals to the TVAL Membership Team using the Spring 24 Goal Form. Once you submit your goal form, the committee will pair you with two other members whom you will meet with once a month to discuss your goals, how it is going, and what you plan to do in the coming month to work toward your goals.

Your peers will offer encouragement, support, and ideas to help you reach your goals! You can meet with your group online through Zoom or Google Meet, or you can meet in person at the location of your choice.

The connections you make with other members will be invaluable as you share the things you struggle with as an artist and encourage each other on your way. You will be inspired as each of you describes the creative projects you are working on and what you dream to achieve as an artist. You will learn from each other as you share tips and resources you have used to succeed and overcome challenges and obstacles you have faced.

If you are interested in participating in a peer group, here is an overview of what you will commit to as part of a TVAL peer group. You will:
  • Commit to fully participate in a TVAL Peer Group from February through May.
  • Complete a Spring 24 Goal Form by describing three goals you would like to accomplish, the first steps towards those goals, and a milestone for each goal you would like to achieve within the first two months.
  • Submit your Spring 24 Goal Form by January 20, 2024.
  • Arrange a 1-hour monthly meeting beginning in February with your assigned group members, allowing all members to attend. We encourage you to stay focused and keep your meetings to one hour.
  • Meet with your group once a month for four months, February 1, 2024 - May 31, 2024.
  • Submit a final report sharing what you have accomplished toward your goals during Spring 24.

TVAL Membership Team will:
  • Review submitted goal forms.
  • Assign members to groups.
  • Review reports to assess how TVAL can continue to develop resources, programs, and opportunities to help members advance in their creative practice.

If this sounds like something you would like to do, we would love to have you join us! Please see the Goal Setting Guide for some tips and ideas for creating your goals for the Spring 24 session.

Submit the Goal Form by January 20
