Hi friends, I like to do my weekly review before writing my Sunday Spark note to inspire you with updates that might be helpful. It did not work out this week as today is as busy as it gets. I will do my weekly review tomorrow. Whenever I do the weekly review, I feel: - Present, because it’s a reflective process that slows time for me and gives me the pause I need before moving into execution mode.
- Grateful because I get to review all my gratitude journal entries of the past week and feel the gratitude multiplying in my heart that I received so many blessings in just one week.
- Clear about the week ahead and know what tasks need to get done on what days. It’s all there in my weekly to-do list and my reminders apps.
- Realistic control over my schedule and where I can fit working on my weekly goals.
- Intentional about my time, attention and energy and where I want to spend them.
- Wiser, because I notice mistakes I made during the past week, and I make new decisions to avoid them in the new week and the future.
- Better about myself and my life and so glad I did it.
This habit costs time but pays enormous dividends for progress in your goals. It’s one of the things that my All-Year-Goals group and I keep reminding each other to do every single week and hold each other accountable for it, and it’s the one habit that they keep thanking me for introducing into their lives. Are you interested to learn more about the All-Year-Goals program? Stay tuned! I will announce the details next week. I hope you join us. Reply with the word “interested” to get me psyched up! |

Here is your weekly dose of The Sunday Spark ⚡️ a newsletter listing 3 sparks that I thought were worth starting your week with*: |
|
1. 🇵🇸 This post really gave me the push I needed to snap out of the numbness I was starting to feel regarding the Palestinian cause. This sentence stuck with me: "Your system is protecting you from what it shouldn't have to protect you against." Read and support the creator of this piece. |
|
2. 🤔 "If you could magically accomplish one of these aims over the next twelve months, which would give you the biggest boost in happiness?" This is how The Habits for Happiness quiz starts. It is the latest quiz that Gretchen Rubin created; I recommend trying all her quizzes to meet new parts of you. My quiz result was: "To be happier, consider a habit that will create calm by clearing out unwanted items or tasks," which you know as my decluttering challenge! This year, digital decluttering is on the list. Please share your results with me; I am so curious to know! We can work on it together in my habits course once I announce it. |

3. 💰 I read You Need a Budget a few years ago. It took me years to finally achieve the budgeting goal (tracking and planning) which I did last year, so I thought I'd remind you to consider a financial goal this year by sharing this quote: |
|
"That's the beauty of a (good) budget: it lets you see exactly how your spending affects the rest of your life.” ―Jesse Mecham, You Need a Budge |
|
(Thank you Readwise for helping me find this quote from my readings) |
|
* Note: To the best of my ability, I am trying to share content by authors who have not disappointed me, and they are hard to come by! Please let me know if any author I share about showed disrespect to Palestine. |
|
For the third year, I am delighted to present to you the New Year’s calendar as a gift to use to track your one key habit every month, to plan your appointments and projects, or to jot down one moment to remember every day. The calendar this year is special because it has 12 quotes from Palestinian authors. Yes, I dedicated this year’s calendar to Palestine and the authors we need to know about, read, and celebrate. While “celebrate” seems like a harsh word nowadays, I wish you would get the chance to spend time with your loved ones, like I am tonight, and that you would forgive me if you do not. I wish you joy and peace, even for moments, and I truly wish we would all celebrate a free Palestine soon. Enjoy your gift from me, how you use it is up to you. Click the button below to download it. Print it soon. |
