"The function of ritual, as I understand it, is to give form to human life, not in the way of a mere surface arrangement, but in depth." — Joseph Campbell |

Hi friends, If you're like us, you may not be so keen to celebrate the Pilgrims dining with Native Americans, the mushroom man in the red suit with the flying deer, or counting down the ball drop at midnight with champagne. During the holidays in particular, our alternative life paths come in direct contrast with the prevailing culture— it creates tension, emotions and regular moments of introspection. Sometimes we start to think, “Are we crazy?” Well— yes, but you have to be to build a new world and luckily there are a lot of us! While mainstream culture sets expectations around community, gratitude and intentions — it often lacks practice, depth and meaning behind these ritualistic moments. The essence of namūna is to inspire more intention, consistency and community into what is this most unique life path that we've all chosen. In this spirit, we're excited to share updates below. We invite you to join us with some regular upcoming experiences. With love, Zach Bell and Elyse Lee |
