In 2021, I was struggling. I was working a full time job, had a 4 year old and a newborn that was born during Covid. A time that was looked so different for all of us! Bowynn was a hard baby. He had terrible reflux, ear issues, and we didn’t sleep for about 7 months straight. I honestly don’t remember alot of it. It was like I was just kinda going through the motions. I was struggling mentally and physically from exhaustion and work and all the things. I was suffering from some post-partum depression. I didn’t have time to do all the things that I was used to doing. Putting on makeup, working out, fixing my hair…all the normal self care things just didn’t happen! One day a childhood friend sent me a random message. It went something like this….
“Hey friend! Long time no see. Hope you are doing well! I know you are so busy and may not want anything else on your plate but I just wanted to let you know that I think you would be an amazing Seint artist! You have amazing skin, are in the dermatology field, and I’m not even sure if you wear Seint makeup but would wear it so well! No pressure just wanted to reach out and tell you that I think you would be totally amazing! Love you!”
I was literally in disbelief. I’ve known this girl all my life but couldn’t beleive at this point in my life that she even thought I could be good at makeup. I had never been good at makeup in my life! There was no way that anyone would buy makeup from me! I immediately told her no…but thank you for thinking of me along with all the excues. I don’t have time. I have small kids. I don’t sleep. I work a full time job etc. Even though I said NO, there was something inside of me that couldn’t believe someone saw this in me. At one of the lowest points in my life, God sent her to tell me that I was beautiful and that she thought I would be a good makeup artist. Yall that right there is a pure miracle!
At the time, I didn’t need anything else on my plate. I didn’t need another job. But I needed a creative outlet. I needed a group of women who could lift me up at this time in my life. Who saw belief in me that I never thought possible. Who push me to be my very best. Who believe its possible to do hard things!
The Seint artist program is so much more than “selling makeup!” It is connecting with new people. It is helping women that are going through the same things I was feel beautiful again!
