One in five Americans are covered by Medicaid. Under the Affordable Care Act, Medicaid expansion expanded the Medicaid program to cover almost all adults with income levels up to 138% of the Federal Poverty Level. As of November 2022, 41 states including Washington D.C. have expanded Medicaid and ten states have not yet expanded Medicaid, including Florida.
