Happy February,

I have been with Feast Down East for almost two years now and it has been amazing to see the growth of both our staff and the reach of the organization into our community.  This year I am excited to resume our food relief program; Farmers Fighting Hunger, as well as begin our cold storage expansion project at the Food Hub in Burgaw. This will allow us to have more cold storage and be able to get more local produce into New Hanover and Pender counties. Also, be on the lookout for workshops throughout the year to help local farmers with marketing & technical assistance, food safety, and post harvest handling and packaging. I hope you all have a great month and be sure to thank a farmer today!

P.S. Take a look at our 2023 Impact Report below. None of it would possible without each and every one of you. Thank you!

“I love the idea of being able to have local produce because it’s much better for me and it’s fresher. It comes from farmers that people know and not factories. It is also healthier for myself, my family, and the planet.”
