THIS LITTLE PIGGY went to market…
My “This Little Piggy” assemblage recently found a new home in Australia. I will miss the little fellas (one for me and each of my siblings). It’s a good reminder to create what you want to see in the world. And you never know…someone else might just appreciate it too! It makes me very happy to know they are now rooting around in the land down under. 😊

wicked plants update
Last month, I said I would keep you updated on my Wicked Plants collection, so here we go!

First, let me introduce you to the stars of the show: Belladonna, Dieffenbachia, Foxglove, Hellebore, Hemlock, Henbane, Hydrangea, Mandrake, Mullein, Oleander, Poison Ivy, Poppy, Rue, Stinging Nettle, Venus Flytrap, Voodoo Lily, Wolfsbane, Wormwood, and Yarrow.

As a nod to my favorite “earth element,” I like to use wood in my pieces whenever possible. So, the base of the name plates are wood stained with sepia fluid acrylic paint. I’ve identified photos that will work in a somewhat cohesive color palette and printed them as separate images from the frames for added depth. (They have already been glued together with Mod Podge in the photo.)

As I start to assemble, each layer has the potential to ruin the whole batch. So, I’ve been spending most of my time avoiding the whole project altogether! 😉

Check back for an update next month to see if I’ve made any progress.

vintage finds
Came across this vintage Sears catalog in a second-hand shop this past winter. In my opinion, 1968 was a very good year.

Do you remember having the Sears catalog in your home? Your brother couldn't quite reach the table?…Get out the Sears catalog. Need to press those maple leaves for a school project?…Get out the Sears catalog. The only thing that eclipsed it was the arrival of the Christmas version. Oh the possibilities!
