February 2024
Last week, eighteen Kansas Forest Service staff members attended the Kansas Natural Resources Conference in Manhattan, KS. This conference was a true showcase of our staff's expertise and passion!

Rural Forestry Program Coordinator Ryan Armbrust gave a presentation on 200 Years of Forestry in Kansas to a room so full, folks were standing along the sides and back! Water Quality Forester Andy Klein gave an update on several stream rehabilitation projects along with Kristin Kloft from the Kansas Department of Agriculture.

GIS Student Technician Michael Pegg presented his work on mapping all the windbreaks in Kansas, and NE Rural District Forester EJ Jamison presented a poster on five years of forestry project data from across the state. In addition to all these formal presentations, KNRC was a wonderful networking opportunity for all the staff in attendance.
