♻️ JOIN ME IN AN EFFORT TO GO ZERO WASTE ♻️ |
Whether you've chosen a new year's resolution or not, work to decrease your waste this year. Help the environment and pick a zero waste resolution to follow: Stop using single-use plastic bags. When you go shopping, bring your own reusable bag. Some stores even offer discounts to shoppers who bring their own bags. Similarly, ditch single-use coffee cups and bring your own to-go cup to coffee shops. Some cafes offer discounts to customers who bring their own cups. Cut back on paper towels. Cut up some old t-shirts or towels and use them as rags in the kitchen in place of paper towels. When they're dirty, wash them and use them again! Reduce your food waste. Start meal planning to reduce food waste at the source. Instead of throwing away food scraps, start backyard composting or bring your compostable materials to a Convenience Center. If you're already doing all of these, tell a friend or neighbor! Encourage them to further their zero waste journey. |

Construction in the District after 7pm |
Recently, there have been reports from neighbors in District 24 that construction has been happening in neighborhoods as late at 10pm or 11pm in evening. Please know that it is not allowed and the decibel level language was recently removed from the code. 9.30.010 - Construction sites—Restrictions. Join me in congratulating new appointments and promotions for 29 MNPD Veterans |
Chief John Drake today announced the appointments and promotions of 29 police department veterans into new leadership roles effective Thursday. “I am excited for these 29 men and women as they have demonstrated their commitment to the safety of Nashville’s residents, while at the same time going through our internal testing processes to advance their law enforcement careers,” Chief Drake said. |
The MNPD strongly encourages Nashvillians to lock their automobile doors, secure any valuables---especially guns, and REMOVE THE KEYS. So far this year, 64 guns have been stolen from vehicles in Nashville. The total number of guns stolen this year in Davidson County is 96, which means that 66% of guns stolen so far in 2024 have been taken from automobiles. Last year at this same time, 109 guns had been stolen from vehicles, a 13% decrease. Going hand in hand with vehicle burglaries is vehicle theft. Too many automobiles remain easy targets because keys are left inside or made available to thieves. Just like guns taken from vehicles, these stolen autos are also routinely involved in criminal activities, including carjackings and robberies. |
