My life in photographs  πŸ‘€
Hello Folded Poetry friends! I'm excited to share an experience I had last fall which was entirely new to me: I was the subject of a photojournalism project!

Natalie, a photojournalism student at UNC reached out to me in late October asking if she could shadow me for a month. Her assignment was to capture the life of someone who represents transformation.
Natalie chose me because after a car crash and a traumatic brain injury in 2018, I have reinvented my health and former career in architecture - I'm now a full-time sculptural artist (and a health freak!)
If you're unfamiliar with my journey, I'd love to share my full story with you - click the button below to check it out.

Natalie followed me all around town, capturing my life as an artist and entrepreneur. We spent time in my studio, maker spaces, at professional networking events, and on-site at the Luminary installation. She snapped photos of me a the gym, farmers market, and even playing in the yard with the dogs! (Being photographed while meditating was an new, interesting, and challenging experience! πŸ˜…)
This email contains her top eleven curated photos out of hundreds captured; These are the photos she submitted for her final project!

On an entirely different note, this past weekend Mikie and I traveled to Colorado with for a month of remote work and skiing / snowboarding!
Yesterday was our first day on the mountain at Breckenridge, and it was a gorgeous day with clear skis and great conditions.
It wasn't that long ago when I was uncertain whether skiing, a great love of mine, was something I'd ever be able to do again. I'm incredibly grateful for this opportunity to celebrate my ever-improving health.

I promise to share more about our trip next time!
Until then - much love to you,
