Hello there, First name / friend! Happy Valentine's Day! What are your plans? I'll be cooking shrimp fettuccine alfredo, and we will be playing a game or two after the kids go to bed. Nothing too fancy, but I do have a fun wine picked out for the occasion! Still have no idea what game we will be playing, but I have a suggestion for you (either for tonight or any other time).

Sagrada is a popular one for us. We either bring it out on nights where we don't have much time or after we've played another game, and we still have some time to kill. With two players, it only takes about 20-30 minutes. The base game can be played with 1-4 players, but you can purchase an expansion to play up to six.

Your goal is to place dice strategically to build your stained-glass window.
The pictures above show the set up. You'll get 2 of the cards on the left and you get to choose which one you want to use. For example, I chose this card which has 3 white dots in the bottom right corner. That means I get 3 of those glass marbles.

Then each player gets one of the cards shown in the middle. This will give you points for all of the dice you play of that color.

Then you will randomly choose three cards each from public objectives and special tools (picture on the right). These will help you to get more points at the end of the game and help you if you get stuck.
Now you are ready to start the game! Roll two dice per person, plus one extra. You will select one, then each person selects one until everyone has grabbed & played a die. Then you go back in the reverse order. In a two-player game, I choose 1, Adam chooses 2, then I choose 1. Then the leftover die goes on the round tracker (shown on the right).

You also have to abide by placement rules. Your first die has to be on an edge/corner, and all subsequent dice have to touch an already placed die - diagonals count. You also have to abide by color and number restrictions. Two of the same color cannot touch, as well as two of the same number. You also have to follow the restrictions on your board. Your board will tell you which color or number you must place in those spots.
That's basically it! You'll continue taking turns like this for 10 rounds and then the game is over. The left is a picture of my board mid-game and the right is a picture of my board at the end of the game. Unfortunately, I was unable to complete my board, which resulted in -1 point.

You'll use the back of the round-tracker to keep score. You can get detailed instructions from your rule book for that one. Whoever has the most points wins!
