Destination Boarding with Ascham School
We're proud to present our first Takeover Thursday for 2024 with Ascham School, Sydney.
 
If you know you know….. Ascham is renown not only for it's near 140 years of boarding for country girls, but also for their unique learning program - the Dalton Plan. A teaching philosophy that embraces four principles—collaboration, responsibility, reflection and independence. 
Ascham is committed to educating girls from rural, regional and remote areas of NSW and indeed Australia and this is further demonstrated by their investment in new boarding houses and facilities.
I firmly believe in the opportunities boarding schools offer our country students, and when I can see schools investing in their boarders it gives me heart and hope for the future. It's not easy for schools from our metropolitan areas to continue to ensure their boarding communities have room to grow (space being a key element). When schools, such as Ascham, strive to ensure that they can remain a home away from home for generations to come it must be commended.

These are just a few phrases to describe Ascham boarders.  
 
Since 1887, generations of boarders have excelled at our unique school. Hailing from country NSW, Sydney suburbs, interstate and overseas, our diverse cohort of around 120 boarders is filled with students who are secure and happy in their surroundings. 
 
We take great care to provide a supportive and immersive learning environment for our boarders as they embrace Ascham’s unique learning framework, the Dalton Plan. Evening ‘Prep’ offers them specialist expertise through our dedicated Prep Tutors, drawn from academic teaching staff and recent Ascham graduates. After hours and weekends are filled with sporting and co-curricular activities, where girls extend close friendships and experience the best of study/life balance.
 
Four Boarding Houses offer a relaxed atmosphere, each with experienced, live-in Heads of House and Boarding Coordinators. A brand-new state-of-the-art Boarding House is currently in development, adding to our collection of comfortable homes on campus. 
 
Our central location is the envy of many; being only 3km from the CBD, 5km from beaches and with transport on the doorstep, our boarders thrive in Sydney’s cultural vibrancy and unique natural surroundings.
