Dear Yahel Community,
These past five months have been emotionally charged, filled with intensity, and, amid it all - incredibly inspiring. We are proud to send you our 2023 Annual Report. In addition to highlighting the impactful programs we ran last year, the report summarizes all the powerful work our Emergency Relief Campaign facilitated - it is really remarkable to look back at all the impact the Yahel community's support enabled Yahel to make.
We know so many of you continue to look for ways to help, and to make an impact. We are excited to share four ways you can volunteer with Yahel in the coming months. Please help us spread the word, and share these opportunites with family and friends:
Recent Updates: Social Change Fellowship, Yahel Together, Olim Shalav & Community Service Learning Days
We have certainly been keeping busy the last several months. Firstly, the Yahel Social Change Fellowship has successfully relaunched - fellows have integrated into meaningful volunteer placements and are getting to know their communities. We will soon be concluding the first successful cohort of the six-week Yahel Together Program - our wonderful group of participants made meaningful change through their volunteer placements in Haifa, and learned a lot about social change through diverse learning days throughout Israel, including an incredibly powerful day in Ofakim. This week, the pilot cohort of the Olim Shalav program celebrated its conclusion; the three-month program was a resounding success - participants formed strong connections with their volunteer placements, built a strong community to support one another, and improved their Hebrew.
We have also spearheaded several service learning days in the community - recently bringing a group of American volunteers to an unrecognized Bedouin village to pack food packages with members of the community, and bringing Israelis to a special needs school in an Arab village where volunteers packed food together with the students and staff of the school.
In the coming weeks, we are excited to be facilitating several custom programs for various groups and federations. In the next several months we will be welcoming new cohorts of the Yahel Together, Onward and Olim Shalav programs. We continue to understand from our grassroots partners where help is most needed in order to adapt our programming in a way that effectively addresses needs. Now more than ever, we are excited to continue inspiring our participants to become leaders of social change.
With gratitude for your partnership and prayers for peace,
Dana and the Yahel Israel Team
