OFF DUTY: I’m a wife, brand new girl mama, doodle mom, wine enthusiast, and big fan of warm days on the water with my favorite people.
I had a blog long before blogging was cool (or dead … or whatever your opinion is on blogging), knew I wanted to write, and had the English degree to prove it.
But I had no idea how that was going to play out in my career. Post undergrad, I tried my hand in a sales role, followed by retail & community management at lululemon, where I fell in love with all things branding and personal development. Craving more, I decided to continue my education with a Master’s in Strategic Communications, which introduced me to the world of business writing - namely copywriting - and left me overwhelmingly bright eyed & inspired.
While juggling grad school + a job within my university’s Center for Entrepreneurship, I decided to start an LLC and provide any number of creative services to other small business owners.
While I’ve never niched down insofar as serving a narrow audience, I eventually saw the value in focusing my services into a primary area of expertise and enduring passion — copywriting.
But here’s where things really started to flow…
My early days in the online creative industry saw plenty of neon branding, bold fonts, and ‘bro marketing’ campaigns that overpromised and majorly underdelivered. I didn’t love feeling like copywriting was synonymous with high pressure sales, debatably ethical persuasion tactics, and pushy CTAs.
I wondered, how could I stand in contrast to that?
All it took was a trip to the champagne region of France where I felt immersed in the world of luxury hospitality offered at each champagne house. The level of intention, thoughtfulness, and all-around experiential nature was a feeling I wanted to bottle up and take with me — and so I did.
A few years & a role within a local marketing agency later, KVH. Creative LLC became Copy Uncorked and all the different parts my experiences started to connect.
The vision for CU quickly gained legs and was centered on this belief: your copywriting partnership should feel like uncorking a bottle of Cabernet at golden hour in good company — fun, fluid, easeful, and genuine.
With this as our foundation, we’ve become the highly regarded creative agency you see today.
