Hello Guild Members!
Is everyone rested up from our show? I think this was the best quilt show yet! We all pulled together to make this show fantastic. Though we had some setbacks, we overcame them. Thanks again to all that participated on the committee, in set up and take down, volunteering to man tables, bringing food in and coming to see the quilts. We can relax until our next show. I don't see how some guilds can do a yearly show.
One of our show setbacks was that the center quilt racks fell during setup. When this happened several racks got bent. All the racks will have to be checked to see which are good, which we can repair ourselves and which are no good. Further discussion will come at the guild meeting.
In accordance with the guild By-laws I am behind on getting a nomination committee together to work on the new slate of officers. Voting is to take place in April, with new officers taking over in May. I will place calls to current board members
and get 3 at large guild members to work on this.
Our March programs will be curves. You know summer is coming?
The entire Executive Board has agreed to stay on another year, so with that, we will be taking nominations from the floor in April before we vote on the Board. Remember, those floor nominations must be agreed to by the person you are nominating, before you can proceed with their floor nomination.
Current Programs Chair, Diana Davis, stepped down from her position in February. Beverly Martine is the only nominee at this time for Programs.
All other positions are appointed by the President. Those members currently in those appointed positions who wish to remain on the board are welcome to stay unless you have decided not to continue.
See you in March!
Peggy Coe
