Hi friends,
I am marking the 4th anniversary of
my podcast at the end of this month. Were you there when I launched it?
Reviewing my podcasting journey, I noticed that my podcast production has declined in the last two years compared to the first two, although its reach has remarkably grown. The reason, I realized, was the attention I gave to launching my online workshops, which were very successful but significantly reduced the time I allocated to my podcast, especially with my limited time as a full-time employee and mother.
However, my commitment to my podcast in the first half of this year will be my number one creative priority. Especially after a small breakthrough that I had recently; for the first time since launching the podcast, I could batch the production of three podcast episodes:
- I recorded them in one sitting on a magical Saturday (remember those?)
- I then edited them during two early morning sessions before going to work.
- As a result, for the first time, I have an episode already scheduled for tomorrow, and it has been just sitting there on the podcast platform for one week, waiting to be published!
Success reasons:
- Upgraded one of my tools: I purchased a beautiful desktop screen after working on laptops at home, so the editing process got more fun.
- New Audience: YouTube finally caught up to the podcasting game and can now import podcast tracks in one click, so my podcast is there! YouTube's presence got me excited about the possibility of having my work shared with a totally new crowd, mainly since YT exists on phones by default, unlike most podcast apps (which need to be downloaded for Android, for example). By the way, I got 100 subscribers in the first week, which is not bad at all.
- Hard work: Most importantly, working hard on the podcast scripts and preparing them in advance made recording easy. Fun fact: I actually worked on these scripts months ago but put them on hold when October events erupted.
I want to play the podcasting game these coming weeks and to get it going; I need to consistently keep writing, recording, and editing, preferably in batches. It felt so good to batch, and I want it to be the norm, not the exception.
I upped my commitment to podcasting by upgrading my microphone and gear, a goal I postponed for a while and feel ready for. Hopefully, I will get to record the 4th-anniversary episode with the new microphone.
Meanwhile, please support my newbie
YouTube channel by

It's your turn. If you are stuck on a goal that worked well before, think about where the time you used to spend on it went. It may be your season (tune in to tomorrow's podcast episode to learn more about this.) Or perhaps you need to upgrade your tools to get you motivated again, like I did with my screen and microphone.
What can you invest in that will help you create more easily? Could it be as simple as a desk or a comfortable chair?
Let me know in an email, I would love to hear from you!
