You can’t fix the world if you can’t fix yourself.
Many people would rather blame the world for their problems than take responsibility for their own lives. For some, it’s much easier to complain about the system than make the effort to change themselves.

The truth is that we live in a broken world. We all know that. We live in a world where mental health problems are everywhere, and families are falling apart. We also live in a world with greedy and corrupt politicians that make up our dysfunctional government. And what do they do for us? They, along with the media, bombard us with negativity in an effort to keep us afraid and stressed out.

If you read or watch the news for any length of time, tell me I’m wrong.

The truth is that we can’t wait for someone else to solve our problems. We can’t rely on the system to fix our lives. We have to take charge of our own destiny. Yes, we have leaders in our society, but when it comes to your own journey…that leader needs to be you.

We have the power to change our lives and the world around us. But what many forget is that it starts with changing ourselves first. It starts with improving our mindset and changing our habits and actions for the better.

The question I always get is, how does someone do that?

It starts with the word “more”.

We need to be more aware, more responsible, more disciplined, and perhaps even more compassionate to those that are struggling to make it.

It starts with being the best version of ourselves.
we do have the power to change our lives, we need to understand that it doesn’t happen overnight.
It takes time and effort, just like adapting to a new diet or sticking with an exercise plan.

Don’t let the idea that you are just a small fish in a big pond get you down. You are not helpless, hopeless, and you definitely don’t have to lie down and accept the status quo.

If you want to change the world around you, start with yourself and your immediate surroundings. This includes the people you love, the people you work with, the people you interact with on a regular basis, and sometimes, people you don’t even know.

It all happens one day, one action, and one habit at a time.

You don’t need the government to help you create positive habits, and there is no system that can fix all of the world’s problems for you.

So what do you do?

You develop habits that improve your mental, physical, and emotional well-being. You know the habits I’m talking about. I’m talking about eating healthy, exercising regularly, getting enough sleep, meditating (or practicing some form of mindfulness), and continuously learning. Habits like these are what is going to make you stronger, happier, smarter, and more confident.

You can also improve the world around you by creating a positive impact on the people around you. I’m not talking about buying lavish gifts, I’m talking about the small things that matter the most to people. Simple things like expressing your gratitude, giving compliments, offering to help people, truly listening, and just being kind to the ones around you so they feel appreciated, valued, understood, and loved.

After all, isn’t that what you want too?

You need to understand that it’s one thing to have the power to change the world, but you actually have to use it. It requires action. Like I say in just about every one of these newsletters, you need to be proactive. You need to be the change you want to see in the world.

How do you do that? You do it by contributing positively to the world around you. I’m talking about little things like volunteering, or inspiring positive change in others. Just making the world a better place in any way you can.

I understand it can be frustrating when you see the headlines around you. It’s hard to not let the problems of the world discourage you. The world will always have challenges, but you cannot let the world stop you from pursuing your goals.

So remember, while you have the power to change your life and the world, it all starts with proactively changing yourself.

But don’t just take my word for it. I busted my ass trying to change the world around me, and it worked for me, but now it’s time for you to try it yourself. See what happens when you improve yourself and impact others. I’m serious, watch how your world changes for the better.

But don’t keep it to yourself.

Share what you’re doing with other people. Inspire and challenge others to do the same. And if they need help, help them.

Share what you want to change. What you’re doing to change. Share your stories, insights, lessons learned, and even the successes and failures. They are all part of everyone’s journey.
share it with your friends, family, and maybe even your community. Positivity can spread just like negativity, so don’t be silent about it. This is how we inspire each other!
let’s do this. Together. One habit at a time.
I'll see you in the next one,
-Steven Williams
