Dear One,
These days, it feels like nearly everyone I cross paths with (yes, even yours truly!) is navigating some kind of career shift. Whether it's a dear friend, a chance encounter with a stranger, or a client I've been collaborating with for ages ā€” both the world and the landscape of work have dramatically changed ā€” leaving us all a bit uncertain about what comes next.

As a wise elder once told me, ā€œWhat got you here, wonā€™t get you there.ā€

Enter From Here to There: A Workshop to Re-imagine Your Next Chapter of Work on Wednesday, April 10th from 11am-12.30pm PDT. This workshop is for anyone who's looking to envision new possibilities for a more aligned and vibrant career.

This 90-minute workshop is for you if:
  • Youā€™re ready for a new work chapter but donā€™t know where to start.
  • You want to embrace change and turn uncertainties into catalysts for growth and transformation.
  • Youā€™re eager to explore untapped skills, passions, and strengths that may have been overlooked in your current career.
  • Youā€™re looking to connect with like-minded individuals facing a similar crossroads.
  • Youā€™re open to moving beyond traditional career paradigms in order to explore a holistic approach to success.
In this workshop, you will:
  • Be led through a guided visualization to gain awareness around conscious and unconscious decisions that got you ā€œHereā€.
  • Journal and self-reflect to understand how your current skills and experience will support you on your path to ā€œThereā€.
  • Unlock your intuition as a tool for your next steps.
Space is limited and registration closes on Monday, April 8th. Cost is $35 / participant. Claim your spot today!

I donā€™t know how the start of 2024 was for you ā€” but damnnnnn did it feel sluggish and muddy for me. It was, yet again, one of lifeā€™s humble reminders that being human is about embracing all of the feels and trusting that whenever a moment of stuckness arises ā€” it too shall pass.

With the spring equinox upon us, Iā€™d like to prompt you with a few questions of self-reflection that may support you (wherever youā€™re at!) in getting from ā€˜Hereā€™ to ā€˜Thereā€™:

Here:
  • What is a way you are unnecessarily limiting yourself?
  • What is a way you are not taking care of your gifts?
  • What is a way you have gotten lazy?
  • What is one stagnant behavior you keep seeing in yourself, your community, your country or the world?
There:
  • What is a new way I can commit to taking care of myself/my body?
  • What is a new way I can commit to taking care of my home?
  • What is a new way I can commit to taking care of my relationships?
  • What is a new way I can commit to taking care of my community, country, or the planet?
May the gentle warmth and blooming beauty of spring melt away any lingering stagnation that winter may have brought.

With love,

  1. The Lone Pilgrim. A stunning series of short stories about women in their twenties and thirties navigating relationships, marriage, love and sometimes adultery.
  2. Anatomy of a Fall. A gripping thriller about a woman suspected of her husband's murder, and their blind son faces a moral dilemma as the sole witness.
  3. Mr. and Mrs. Smith. A comedic and breezy action series of two strangers who independently agree to become secret agents for a mysterious organization under cover as a married couple.
  4. Cereal. An impeccably curated digital archive of art, design, style, travel and more by artist Rosa Park.
  5. All of Us Strangers. A heartbreaking story that examines profound grief and love through a fantastical lens that is grounded on human emotion.
  6. The House of Beautiful Business. An innovative network of creative powerhouses looking to change the world through a life-centered economy. I was particularly smitten by their Glossary for Generation Grief.
  7. Beyonce's new song Texas Hold ā€˜Em. Because sometimes the only way to get through the muck is a good line dance and an opportunity to kick up your heels.
  8. HBR Article: The Best Leaders Can't Be Replaced by AI. An important read on the promise (and perils) of AI-enabled management and the three uniquely human capabilities leaders need to focus on honing, especially as AI begins to figure more in management. It's basically the thesis statement of Noria.
  9. Julie Pointer Adams. All of the photos in this newsletter were taken by this beautiful creature. If you live in the LA area and are looking for a photographer, look no further.
  10. American Fiction. A frustrated novelist who's fed up with the establishment that profits from Black entertainment uses a pen name to write an outlandish Black book of his own.
