Hello there, First name / friend! I'm heading back to the checklist this week with Rolling Realms! I got a request for it, so why not? |
Rolling Realms can be played with 1-6 players. There's a special single-player mode, which I'll show at the bottom. This is what we call a roll-and-write game. You will use dry-erase markers to write on the cards. There are 11 unique cards, called realms, included in the game. Each realm has a specific task that you will attempt to complete by rolling dice. The first thing you'll do is choose 3 realms from the 11 options. We randomly chose Tapestry, Between Two Castles, and Viticulture. Above and below, you'll see my first turn of the game. We rolled a 5 & 6. I wrote that on my Rolling Realms player card. Then I choose to place my 6 in Tapestry and my 5 in Viticulture. |
Every realm has its own rules, shown on the top of the card. You'll obey placement rules and collect pumpkins, hearts, and coins as you go. You can trade in those resources to do things like adjust a dice roll or play another number. You will roll the dice 8 more times. After 9 rolls, you'll finish a round. Then you score your cards. Leftover resources are only 0.1 stars (points), so it's always better to use them if you can. Below is what mine looked like after Round 1. |
Then you erase all your markings except for the round 1 points and draw 3 new realms. You'll play through a total of 3 rounds and then total up your stars. The most stars wins the game! Below you'll see my Round 2 and 3. I should have had Adam take pictures of his because your girl won 😉 but also to see how differently two people can play. Fun facts about this game: the realms are the names of different Stonemeier games! He's a St. Louis designer, so we love supporting him! This game was also designed during the Pandemic as a way for people to play a game together while in separate places. |
As promised, this game also comes with a really cool solo mode. You can play through 18 holes of mini golf by working through the challenge cards. I haven't tried it yet, but whenever I next feel like playing a solo game, this will be it for sure! |
I definitely recommend snatching this one up! It's super affordable and ships quickly. 🙌 Also, if you see a game on the list that you'd love an email of, just let me know and I'll send it to ya! What have you been playing lately? What do you want to see next? |
