// the mood & vibes this week
— i'm writing this to you from my topanga haus, on friday morning.
— all around me, i'm feeling the world wake up from winter, slowly and gradually. outside my window, buds are breaking through branches that have long been dry. there's a pear tree in bloom. and the sun seems a little warmer than it did a few weeks ago. it's these subtle shifts in the seasons that i feel grateful to be right up against, living in the canyon.
— last weekend, my closest friend stayed with me. i hadn't seen them in four months. it was lovely, and i stayed offline for much of that weekend, sitting in sun puddles and eating delicious fresh food from all my favorite haunts. it was so good to just be with someone who gets me. i'm working to build that community locally, because those deep connections are just not superfluous. it's a hard thing i'm navigating in my 20s, where my childhood friends are scattered geographically, and i'm reconstructing that web of connection.
— in terms of real estate … holy sh*t it's been wild. me and all my agent friends are basically in agreement that we're kind of in another 2021 situation; where demand is very high and inventory remains low. for instance: i wrote on two houses this week. both of which had over 30 offers. bonkers! it matters now more than ever to have someone in your corner who knows the market, knows the houses, and knows the other agents.
— side note, re: the houses i feature in the below section of our newsletter. i used to just highlight houses in LA proper. but now, i'm mixing in favorites from northern california & the socal mountain towns as well, which i'm also very familiar with. hope you enjoy the blend. i included four for this issue, because this week's picks are really, really good.
