Sweet Solutions for Salty Challenges NFP took part in last month's NL economic mission to Vietnam, which convened 140 partners from logistics, water, and agrifood sectors. One highlight was the 10 year commemoration of the Strategic Partnership on Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security between the Netherlands and Vietnam, which included the launch of the EmpowerYouth4Food Campaign by Nuffic Southeast Asia, promoting the pivotal role of youth in food systems. NFP, one of the founding partners, contributed to the panel, alongside East-West Seed, de Heus, and Wageningen University & Research. NFP also moderated a salinity-themed panel during the Mekong Delta Business Forum entitled "Sweet Solutions for Salty Challenges" with contributions from RijkZwaan, Kim Delta, Tra Vinh University, and Land Water Food Consult. |

Kenya Innovation mission explores livestock and alternative proteins. Last month, the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency, and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Nairobi organized an Innovation Mission focused on livestock and alternative proteins. The mission helped identify challenges within the sector and inspired innovative solutions. Over the course of four days, representatives from Dutch companies, knowledge institutes, civil society organizations, and government officials, including NFP, visited various locations in Nairobi, Nakuru, and Eldoret. Their itinerary included visits to the Kenyan State Department for Livestock and the Rift Valley Institute for Science and Technology, as well as an insect farm (Fair & Sustainable) and agro-contracting service providers (Nondoroto Farms / Bles Dairies). Report of Expert Workshop Operationalizing Healthy Diets Advancing discussions on sustainable nutrition, The Netherlands Working Group on Nutrition (NWGN) and Netherlands Food Partnership (NFP) recently hosted an expert workshop in The Hague. With a focus on operationalizing sustainable healthy diets in the context oft climate change, the event provided a platform for robust discussions. Notably, the workshop emphasised the role of Animal Source Foods (ASF) in enhancing nutritional outcomes across low and middle-income countries (LMICs). By fostering dialogue and collaboration, participants explored pathways to promote resilient food systems prioritising human health and environmental sustainability. |
