Q & a
Hola profes,

I hope your Spring Break went well.  I have been getting lots of new subscribers to the newsletter in the past weeks (here is the link to the Digital Ordinal Numbers freebie if you did not get it) and have been receiving lots of questions.  So I thought I would take a few minutes and answer them.

How are you doing without Amy?  There is really no good answer to this question.  I answered “terrible” for several weeks and now I simply say “okay”.  Grief is hard, trying to figure out life without your best friend is a challenge.  I don't know if I will ever be alright.

What is your favorite movie to teach?  It is hands down La Misma Luna.  When it first came out, Amy and I immediately made materials to teach it and developed an entire immigration unit.  Amy also somehow got in contact with the writer and producer, Ligiah Villalobos, and we did a phone interview with her with Amy's students.  It was amazing.

Where is your family from?  I have lived in Ohio most of my life and my husband is from El Paso, Texas.  We enjoy visiting there several times a year.  We currently live in Ohio.

What is your favorite song to teach?  I love “Aleluya” by Reik and Manuel Turizo.  It is beautiful, easy to understand, and focuses on love and seeing beyond physical appearance and disabilities.

I love answering your questions.  Keep them coming - just hit reply to this email!  Have a great week!

all the best in your teaching endeavors,
Katie
