| | SFN: What made you want to publish your books in audio? |
| | LS: I love listening to audio, especially now that I'm writing full time. I can't bear to look at a device screen or small print in a book to read after being at the computer all day. It's a huge investment, but I'm so glad I did it. |
| | SFN: How long do you usually sit and write? How do you keep yourself present/fresh/awake...? |
| | LS: My goal is to write a chapter. That's probably 3,300 words or so. I stand every hour and wave my arms around so I get credit from my Apple Watch, lol. If I haven't finished the chapter by lunchtime I take a brief standing break for lunch. Usually I'm finished with my chapter around 1-2 pm and from there I do marketing stuff. I'm super disciplined and my writer friends sometimes make fun of me because I schedule all fun stuff for later in the day so it doesn't interfere with my writing time.  |
| | SFN: Are you a planner or an intuitive writer? |
| | LS: Mostly a planner. I write much faster if I have a synopsis written ahead of time. But I don't stick to the synopsis either, and often change the bad guy halfway through my story. |
| | SFN: Do you find it productive to sprint with author friends or do you work best solo? |
| | LS: I work solo, but I do attend writing retreats with my fellow authors and it's interesting that we can all sit in the same general space and write. |
| | SFN: What is one trope or sub-genre you love but haven’t written yet? |
| | LS: Hmm. Not sure if there's a trope I haven't written. I guess one trope that I'm hoping to write in one of the books in my next series is a married couple who are torn apart and then thrown back together again. |
