April 2024 Card Reading by Sue

The deck used this month is a new one Leslie was given for her birthday in March. It's called the Flower Medicine Oracle Deck for Divination & Self-Care by artist Cathy Nichols. Within the deck they provide a flower card spread which was used for this card reading. See the information below. The reading and images of the cards drawn follow.

 

Card #1 - Seed - this is the seed that sets everything in motion for the month, where the month begins.

Card #2 - Root - this is the card that will support and nourish us for the month of April.

Card #3 - Stem - this card will show us how we can move forward for the month.

Card #4 - Blossom - this is where we will be by the end of April (two cards actually came out of the deck for this one).

 

As with all readings, take what resonates and leave the rest. And sit with these cards and the flower's energy yourself to uncover your own meanings.

The first card for “seed” is Anemone. We begin the month of April with anticipation. The perfect card as we look forward to change, to new beginnings and opportunities. A sense of the opportunities to be for healing our deepest wounds and trauma. This gives a sense of April being a month of significant advancement individually as we heal what has held us back for so long. Resilience comes to mind. Developing more resilience throughout this month. And a significant amount of personal growth can be achieved if we do the work…the inside work. In some cultures, these flowers provide protection and safety. If these come up for you this month, know that the beautiful energy of Anemone is available for you to access. Sit with Anemone's energy in meditation and allow her to share her messages with you.

 

 

The next card for “root” is Zinnia. Embodying the spirit of happiness comes to mind right away. What does that really mean for you? When contemplating this, the energy of Zinnia said to find joy and happiness, go within. When we find this within us instead of searching outside ourselves, it is deeper, and more lasting. When it is from within, no matter what is occurring in the outside world, we are at peace. We are in a place of higher consciousness and what may call new earth. We lift ourselves up from the chaos and confusion. Zinna's represent longevity, reflecting the ability to withstand challenges and persist with strength and dignity. She will support you through the process and anything you encounter during the month of April. 

 

 

The third card for “stem” is Magnolia. An interesting energy she has. Did you know that in some cultures,. she represents the Divine Feminine symbolizing purity and beauty? Magnolias are often seen as symbols of dignity, nobility, and perseverance, carrying an air of elegance and strength. The “stem” shows us how to move forward this month. We can move forward with purity.  Purifying our mind, our body, and anything that doesn't feel “pure” to us. When thinking of “pure”, authenticity came to mind. What isn't authentic in your life? Where do you feel out of balance? Magnolia will assist you this month to move forward with purifying anything that is not authentic. Her energy will guide you on your spiritual journey. She will inspire and guide you. What message does she have for you?

 

 

When drawing the fourth card for “blossom”, two cards came out. Blossom is the potential for where we will be by month's end. These two flowers that came together have a synergy. They blend so well together. 

 

The two cards are Camellia and Carnation. Let's go to Camellia first. Camellias invite us to appreciate beauty, to strive for perfection in our spiritual practices, and to nurture love and compassion in our lives. How perfect for where we will be at the end of April. They symbolize the journey of the soul toward enlightenment, blooming with grace and beauty despite the challenges on its path. So even if we find April to be difficult or challenging, we can grow, we can bloom, and be in the presence of love. This love can be for ourselves, our family, our friends, and life itself. 

 

 

The second card for “blossom” is Carnation. It also has a connection to love. Interestingly, some believe that Carnation is connected to the Virgin Mary. representing a mother's eternal love. The flower is also a symbol of the bonds of affection, reflecting a deep and enduring love that transcends the physical realm. The energy of this card speaks to us with an abundance of love. Where in your life do you need to love more? We are learning to love ourselves more and what comes to mind is how Carnation can help us to do this. She helps us to “mother” ourselves. When you sit with her energy, ask her where you need to love yourself more. She'll bring you to month's end loving yourself with such deep and enduring love, that the joy and happiness from within can exude out to the world. Just think what a difference this will make in these uncertain times.
