It is inspiring to see clients like Libby* -young, single, with a newborn - yearn to be the best possible mom and accomplish that at Woodbury Options for Women.

Clients like Libby are more likely to experience depression, become socially isolated, experience unhealthy relationships, and are 17% more likely to have a second child before their 20th birthday according to the CDC. Their children are more likely to live in low income homes, face food insecurity, and become teen parents themselves. Libby did not want this to be her or her child's story.

Research shows that providing support services to young parents can make a difference in improving educational, health, and social outcomes for them and their families; including reducing the number of additional unplanned pregnancies**. 

At Woodbury Options for Women, Libby receives support services. She attends educational classes where she's learning parenting and life skills. She receives diapers, wipes, clothing and other items for her child. Our bi-weekly Mom's Group provides her the opportunity to participate in a Bible Study where she has found a group of women who care about and support each other. She also meets with our Advocate Jen* at least once a month to have an additional support as she works to reach her parenting and life goals.
