If you've visited either of our shops, you know that we love chatting with all of you. Over the years, it's become so much more than that what's on our shelves. It's about whom the gift is for, and why it's important. It's about the vision you have for your home, it's about community. That's what makes No. 299 so special.
WE COULDN'T BE US WITHOUT ALL OF YOU.
As such, from time to time, we would like to invite you to our “table” for more - from recipes to restaurants to trends to everything in-between. Let's take what we do in-store and deliver it right to your inbox.
Join us as we kick this series off by sharing what we here at No. 299 are reading!
WE WERE THE LUCKY ONES By Georgia Hunter
Christine shares - Set in WWII, the Kurcs are a Jewish family in Poland, separated by the war. The book takes you through the stories of each family member, their experiences, and their will to survive. The strength of the characters and each individual story is captivating! The author is local to Rowayton. Hulu released a limited series last week. So excited for it!!
THE DEFINING DECADE
WHY YOUR TWENTIES MATTER AND HOW TO MAKE THE MOST OF THEM
By Meg Jay, PHD
Susie shares - This was recommended by a customer in Fairfield. She mentioned how this book really helped her daughter come into her own. It is a great tool for any age!
THE COVENANT OF WATER
By Abraham Verghese
Anne shares - This book is north of 700 pages, so it's a serious undertaking but it is absolutely beautifully written and I've never wanted to travel to India more than I do now. Then again, the book itself transports you - the people, the sights, the smells, the food - they lift right off the page.
Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story
By Bono
Colleen shares - I caught Bono live about a year ago in NYC at the Beacon. Afterward, I wanted to dive deeper into his story! I listened to this on Audible on my trips back and forth, picking up my daughter at college. It is awesome hearing his voice as he reminisces - poetic. This is a must-listen for any U2 fans!
