I’ve written and re-written this message in my head so many times.
I think it’s because there’s so much wrapped up in it.
Years of dreams, hard work, partnerships and countless connections… both around the world AND with you! But, the time has come for me to close DS's brick and mortar space.
It’s no secret retail has been an increasing challenge for many these days + opening DS 6 months before the pandemic created the unique challenge of an uphill climb this whole time.
Yet, it’s been (mostly) the time of my life! This has been such an experience-rich season of life, from setting out on a dream and then, making so many incredible connections along the way. I look back on booking flights to Morocco for my first sourcing trip, having had no previous artisan connections in that country, and then filling a shipping container to have our grand opening with a full shop… It’s certainly been a leap of faith since the beginning.
