WORTH SHARING

Recently discussed in a class with the students inside the Modern Maker Method was the idea of SUCCESS. There were some wonderful lightbulb moments in the group and it reaffirmed to me just how little space we sometimes give ourselves for this stuff and how truly it is important.

There is a trend over on Instagram lately where folks throw around the big numbers (as in, the big money numbers they claim to have made) and then other folks poking fun at this (which I love!). I think for a long time we've been stuck with this idea that lots of money = success.

WHAT DOES SUCCESS LOOK LIKE TO YOU?

Today I wonder if you'd take a moment and think about what success means to you.  Not just for your business, but what does it mean to you to be successful, to be winning or in better words to be really thriving in your life?

Think about success in terms of your: Finances, Values, Beliefs, Security, Environment, and Vision.

You might want to grab your journal, make a fresh sup of coffee and take a break to reflect on this. I think you'd be surprised at what you uncover. I'd love to hear how you get on.

FITBIT LUXE
I recently bought a Fitbit for the first time and am actually really loving it.
I have wanted to get a watch and wanted to track my activity more. Since I hardly ever carry my phone around with me, a Fitbit seemed like a good solution. So I did approximately four minutes of research and bought the Luxe because it had great reviews and was nicer looking than the regular Fitbits (the gold accent and an upgraded band make it look a less plasticky).

 HELPFUL TIP

DEALING IWTH OVERHWLEM

If you find yourself feeling overwhelmed (like me these last couple of weeks!) try this:
  1. Pause and breathe. Take a minute to regulate your breathing and calm your mind.

  2. Take a break from screens. Turn off all the notifications and put them in another room.

  3. Move your body, preferably outdoors. When you've done these first threeπŸ‘‰πŸΌ

  4. Jot down everything that is making you feel overwhelmed.
For me this is usually a list of everything I feel I need to do. Then I sit back and look through my list and have a good think about what I can just scratch off (there are usually a few that don't even need to be there). Then I mark off the items I can outsource or hand off to someone else. After that I take the remaining items and write them on post-it notes and organize them by priority level - the most important at the top. And then, I get to work. πŸ˜‰

It's simple, but super effective, and something I come back to over and over again.

P.S. If you have β€˜grow my email newsletter list’ on your to-do list for 2024, I highly recommend giving Flodesk a go. It's intuitive, beautiful, and easy-to-use (I love things that are simple!).
