Hey there First name / Lovely!

Here is a kinda-strange question for you todayโ€ฆ

WHERE DO IDEAS COME FROM?

Thats a crazy question rightโ“โ“โ“ Seriously though, I think this is a pretty unique and personal question and quite frankly, the answer is going to be different for each of us.

For me, I find my best ideas come when I allow myself to turn off my brain๐Ÿง . And to be totally honest, I don't really do this that much. Life is busy and we all have like five and a half million things to do everyday. So, when I do get a break, I like it to be that - a break. If I go away for a weekend with a friend I don't bring my art stuff (ok, full disclosure, I always have a sketchbook in my handbag but that's just part of my everyday). Instead I take a break. Enjoy the moments. Soak everything up. Take pictures. Explore. Think. And ideas just seem to come.

Spending time with other creatives is also a big one. I met this week with the women in my creative mastermind and my mind is currently. humming with ideas. Hearing people speak passionately about their work and what inspires them can often bring new ideas or even fun things like collaborating with another artist or maker.

I also like to get outside as much as possible. A walk on my lunch break, a bike in the evening with my kids. Literally stopping to collect sticks and rocks. It all makes an imprint and can spark creative ideas.

If you are feeling stuck or looking for inspiration, I'd love to suggest these two Lantern Podcast episodes:

How about you? Where do your ideas come from? Hit reply and let me know.

FROTHY LATTES
Last year I bought this milk frother and I go through periods where I am all into it and then others when I forget that it's in the cupboard. Currently I'm back into it and my favourite is a Chai Latte in the afternoon. I like to take my time making it and it feels like a real treat. I brought the frother with me this week when I was away on my mastermind retreat and my fellow creative masterminders also fell in love. It's a fun and easy way to elevate your coffee (or tea) and makes a great gift!

 HELPFUL TIP

๐Ÿ“ฌ ๐Ÿ“ฌ HIT UNSUBSCRIBE ๐Ÿ“ฌ ๐Ÿ“ฌ

Well, maybe not on this email (but you totally can if you aren't loving it!), but in general - hitting unsubscribe is a great thing to do. I have a system of email organization I teach my MMM (Modern Maker Method) students and one of the top things I suggest is that every time you open you inbox, open an email newsletter that no longer brings you joy (or any value) and hit the unsubscribe button.

It's s simple and quick task that helps keeping your inbox tidy. In my opinion your inbox should be a useful, safe, and stress-free place. Only let in really great stuff. ๐Ÿ’Œ
