An autumnal update from hobart wonderings…
Hello HW community, it has been a while between newsletters!

We have had a busy start to 2024 welcoming our new team members to the Hobart Wonderings HQ…

It has been wonderful to watch our new Occupational Therapist, Anita Frost engage with such grace and kindness with our community and start helping those children and families that have been waiting for service.

We are always working hard to find ways to help as many families as we can and late last year we employed Tess Verrier, our very own therapy assistant! Her warmth, enthusiasm and fun nature has been appreciated by many of our families and certainly by our team.

I thought I would also introduce/reintroduce other members of our Hobart Wonderings HQ!

Tamara Laing is a Mental Health Social Worker, who is featured below in this newsletter. She is a ray of sunshine every Friday providing counselling support. Tamara has some availability for new clients, see below for how to contact her.

Last month we were joined by Michelle Chadwick who is a Psychologist who specialises in literacy tutor support, she currently has availability for after school spots, if you think your child may benefit from this you can contact Michelle here:  www.michellechadwickliteracy.com.au

And of course we still have the lovely Hannah Van Tuil, Speech Pathologist who works with the delightful under sevens. Hannah doesn't currently have any availability for new clients.

We love having a range of therapists in our space and part of the Hobart Wonderings community.

What will 2024 bring…
One of our principal values in the practice is to stay curious. We believe curiosity creates new perspective, it is a change agent and enables a judgement free, safe space for our work to unfold.

We want you to be curious with us! Stay connected to the work your OT is focused on with your child/young person, we welcome your questions and feedback, always.

As this first school term comes to an end we encourage you to reflect on the term that was and be curious with your reflections. We strongly encourage regular reviews with parents/caregivers and school care teams to support the work that we do directly with the child/young person. The magic outside of direct therapy sessions is so often where amazing outcomes are found!

At our recently held team planning day we made many important commitments for 2024 and beyond. Our commitments are focused on the way we work, our space, the resources and learning we want to take on and our ways of building a community and how that supports our families in need. Look out for some really exciting projects that will unfold this year. Follow our social media pages to stay tuned.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING A PART OF EVERYTHING WE DO
