edition 16
Dear friend,
This month we are celebrating “The Heart of a Woman”, in honor of Mother's Day. As a woman-owned business, we find something profoundly meaningful in building up and celebrating other women. See below for a preview of the features in this month's newsletter!

rewritten monthly focus

the heart of
A WOMAN

There is something so beautiful about the heart of a woman. We have the capacity to wear so many different hats: wife, mother, friend, sister, daughter, business owner, artist, etc.
Yet we often find some of the most fulfilling, pivotal times are those when we are able to be still and get back to the heart of why we do what we do.

My friend - welcome to the wildest yet most celebratory month of the year! Kicking off ALL THE FUN with Cinco de Mayo, Mothers' Day, graduations EVERYWHERE and Memorial Day - not to mention squeezing in birthdays here and there. I’m seriously tired just typing this out. This time of year is JUST - SO - BUSY!  But this is life. Although in true extrovert fashion, I thrive off of the hustle and bustle of life.  Therefore, a call to be still is really going against the grain for me.

As a wife, mama of three boys and brand new baby girl, it seems as though there is no room for stillness. Someone is always wanting, needing or doing something. However, I try to grab onto lessons and have learned the joys in dancing to and facing life’s music in stillness.

I have found that choosing this specific pause is where I can really listen to what matters. Stepping into this space, life has become audible from the inside out. Although noise is where I live, in stillness there is a sweet surrender, the beauty of peace, and opportunity for clarity to live, think and make a life worth living.

Join me on our rewritten journey of being still so you can stretch your mind and heart to enjoy the little things.

FROM THE HEART OF THE ARTIST
the
heart
of a
woman

My eye has always been drawn to paintings and drawings of women. The elegance and grace portrayed in the female form, whether at rest, work or play, shares something about the inner workings of the heart of a woman.
Every human has a unique beauty and story, which offers limitless inspiration in creating artwork.
I am always seeking to create art that is meaningful, and in my view there is nothing more meaningful than humanity, captured by the brush or pencil. I love photography, but the way that the artist's hand is able to portray the depth of the human spirit is unparalleled.
As we celebrate the beauty and power of womanhood this month, I am finding extra inspiration for the pieces that I create. I feel that way every time I get to create a portrait of one of 440 & co.'s artists, or when I have the honor of creating a commissioned piece.
The missive of “The Art of Undone” is finding beauty in the midst of the imperfect, which I think is a perfect representation of the human spirit, and especially the spirit of womankind. I hope that this month you are able to take inspiration from the lives and hearts of those around you, and make something beautiful out of that in your own perfectly imperfect way. Embrace the fleeting moments of stillness, and allow the creative spark to ignite in your soul.
